What’s New for 2026
A key update for 2026 is the introduction of Open A Grade on Monday nights.
This new grade provides a higher-level option for experienced players, while allowing B and C Grade to continue as mixed competitions, maintaining the strong social and inclusive environment the club has built over many seasons.
This clearer structure gives players more choice, improves competition balance, and supports long-term participation across all grades.
Clearer Pathways for Players
The 2026 season places a strong emphasis on player development and readiness, with clear and consistent pathways from Rookies through to senior grades.
- A Grade is open to players aged 14+ who are turning 15 in the calendar year
- B and C Grade are open to players aged 11+ who are turning 12 in the calendar year
- Rookies remains the entry-level program, focused on fun, confidence and skill development
Movement between grades is based on readiness, safety and competition balance, not age alone.
This approach supports confidence, enjoyment and long-term participation in the game.
Footy for Fun, Done Properly
While competition levels vary across grades, the core focus remains the same – fun games, good people, and a welcoming environment.
The 2026 season will continue to prioritise:
- Enjoyable, social touch
- Fair and balanced competition
- Player and referee welfare
- Clear sideline expectations for families and spectators
Supporting Referees and Volunteers
As a volunteer-run competition, referees and volunteers play a vital role in keeping games running smoothly.
In 2026, the club will continue to invest in:
- Referee recruitment, coaching and mentoring
- Clear processes to support game flow and safety
- Positive development opportunities for teenage referees & volunteers
What’s Next
Detailed competition information will continue to roll out, along with registration details and reminders closer to each season start.
Whether you’re a long-time player, new to the area, returning to touch, or looking for a fun way to stay active, there’s a place for you in the 2026 season.
